black star diopside

A GEOLOGIST BEDROCK

This bedroom was completely custom. From the drapery to the bedding, everything was hand-selected. Natural fibres and colours were a big draw for this down to earth family. We had fun blending organics with patterns!

Black star diopside is thought to re-energise the body, the soul and the mind. Wonderful for a bedroom where you can shed your layers with your partner.

AERO INDUSTRIAL BASEMENT

This was a big empty room that hosted enough space for a pool table and ample of other large games. The clients wanted to convert their gaming basement into a space where the entire family could come together and cuddle up for movie night while feeling as though they’ve been transported to an entirely different experience. My first clue was the client’s appreciation for aviation and was keen on taking my idea to new heights! We did this by; selecting a metal looking wallpaper that imitates the metal on the wing of a plane. This also helped the space feel a little smaller, which is a bonus as it was so large. To amplify the feeling of metal and industrial force, I designed a custom sideboard to place behind the sofa for additional storage and two C-tables for the sectional, rather than side tables. The metal pieces really helped ground everything.

black tourmaline

AFTER THE FIRE

After such a devasting loss of her home in the Fort McMurray fire, this amazing client decided, when it came to the rebuild of her home, she wanted some guidance with colours, tiles, flooring and decor. Working together was a blast because we instantly clicked!

Black Tourmaline was selected for this project because it works like a sponge, soaking up all the negative energy that surrounds it. Cleansing a space to give the opportunity to heal.

I believe interior design and decor are far more than a business transaction.

This is such an intimate and creative process that deals with your money, relationships, home, business, and lifestyle. There’s more to your story than just making your space look beautiful - and I want to help you tell it.

tiger iron

THE IMPACT OF CUSTOM ART

This home is a blend of two beautiful families with so much love. Within the container of this home, they like to celebrate art. Each wall has its own unique piece. Much like the unique personalities that make up this home.

Tiger iron was selected for this space to encourage grounding and to energize the room. The living room of this home is where the entire family gathers together. It’s the heartbeat of the home so I wanted to make sure to enhance creative expression and generate a feeling of stability so each person who inhabits the space feels supported.

yellow citrine

POWDER ROOM

The idea was to show how you can elevate a space without breaking the bank!

This was achieved by spray painting instead of replacing light fixtures, toilet paper and towel holder for a total of $24. Painting the walls a dramatic colour to evoke more visual interest, for $19. Installing vinyl floor tile for $53 to add brightness and pattern. Then topping it all off with a good hunt to some thrift shops for art and decor, totalling $33!

This project was a bunch of fun and definitely flexed my creativity in a few different directions to ensure we were getting the biggest bang for our buck!

The crystal for this project is yellow citrine. It’s an energizing and recharging, crystal that can potentially reverse degenerative disease and helps balance chemical imbalances in the body. It can stimulate digestion, the spleen and pancreas. Negates kidney and bladder infections. Citrine helps eye problems, increases blood circulation, detoxifies the blood, activates the thymus and balances the thyroid. Which can help you access and align your chakras.

drift wood

COZY SPACE FOR SOME Z'S

Driftwood represents the letting go of roots and being organically tumbled by life. It is the purification that comes from surrendering to our truth. The stripping away layers of self and ego to reveal our vulnerable, soft, neutral core. It is knowing our self deeply, being in our light and allowing our self to truly be seen.

This is so important in a room where we are most typically vulnerable.

turquoise

FAMILY OF TRUTH

There are many times where I work with certain stones and crystals to help create a space, where I’m unsure as to why I’m being called to use that specific property. Often times I’m not privy to the healing process that my clients are going through, but I have to trust in my knowing that what I have selected will serve my clients in their current life stage and the processes they are working through. This is exactly what has taken place with this family. I was pulled towards Turquoise for no specific reason, the stone itself is incredible; a stone that is perhaps the oldest stone known to man. Turquoise has many beautiful healing properties. It encourages one to go within and assists with self-forgiveness, self-acceptance and self-acknowledgment. It offers unconditional love for one’s self and others, opening the heart chakra and creating space for forgiveness and ease.

I’ve known this client for some time now. I enjoy every encounter we have as they are always expanding the way I look at things. This project was unique in the way that I didn’t do much design work but rather helped with finishes as they already had the design created, but needed help finding the perfect finishing touches. We spent hours selecting tile alone! It was a blast as I enjoyed watching the process of the client taking the information home, mulling it over then presenting me with their ideas and feed back, then we would evolve from there. It was a true co-creative process!

white marble

EAST DWELLING

White marble that contains light and dark pattern is believed to provide the additional power of connecting with intellectual states of mind and knowledge.

Just like the west dwelling, this space was done a little differently than most. Interiors by Alexandra contracted out my company to select wall, base & case colour, tile & tile design. Also selections for lighting, door and cabinetry hardware, flooring & countertops, along with a few finishing touches. Colour & product selection for the exterior was also selected. It was an absolute pleasure!

rose quartz

PRETTY IN PINK

As some of you know, pink is certainly not my “go to” colour. But this fun, yet vintage shade of pink was irresistible! And after meeting this sophisticated little 3 year old, I knew it was a perfect fit!

Rose quartz was selected for this sweet girl because it has a gentle effect and is great to enhance love and compassion.
